The African SOUP Partners with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation

The African SOUP is proud to partner with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF), a collaboration that continues to expand opportunities for our students and strengthen our school community. Through this partnership, our students benefit from world-class music education, meaningful cultural exchange, and significant investments in campus development at The SOUP School.

ABF, based in Florence, Italy, carries forward the legacy of world-renowned tenor Maestro Andrea Bocelli by empowering communities through education, music, and social impact. The SOUP School was selected as ABF’s first partner school in Africa for its “Voices Of” choir program, a distinction that reflects both the strength of our students and the impact of our educational model.

Through this partnership, our students receive intensive musical training, social-emotional wellness support, and leadership development. They also have the extraordinary opportunity to engage in international cultural exchange, performing alongside peers from ABF-supported choirs in Italy, Jerusalem, and Haiti. These experiences broaden horizons and build confidence in ways that extend far beyond the stage.

This partnership is a decisive vote of confidence in The African SOUP. ABF was drawn to our work because of:

  • The SOUP’s award-winning music, dance, and drama program, which ranked in the top 25 in Uganda’s national competition for three consecutive years

  • Our commitment to active learning and holistic child development

  • Our deep and sustained roots in the local community

Beyond music, ABF is investing in critical campus infrastructure to transform our school and the community. The first phase includes improved sanitation facilities, a health clinic, a welcome center and music recital hall, and new administrative offices.

This collaboration brings greater visibility to The African SOUP, elevating our model school and the Active Learning Project while showcasing the talent and resilience of our students on a global stage.

We are deeply grateful for this collaboration and for the continued support of our community, which makes partnerships like this possible.
